Food Hunting Trip to Melaka

Still rmb that i hv posted some pics bout our melaka trip last time? As u can see from those photo below, this post will be all-about-foods !!!! so make sure u go grab something to eat before u start browsing through this post ya XD

1 # Hoe Kee Chicken Rice Ball @ Jonker Street
What come to ur mind when somebody mention Melaka? I think a lot of people (especially tourists) would say chicken rice ball, and yes, our hunting journey started here, hoe kee hainan chicken rice, a spacious restaurant serving authentic ping pong ball sized chicken rice and other lips-smacking dishes such as asam fish. We only ordered chicken rice since there is five more places to go later~~~

Tender chicken with flavourful soy sauce

2 # One Bite Durian Puff @ Pooh Kean Enterprise, Jonker Street
After taking some savoury goodness, it's time for the sweet one!!!! Famous durian puff located exactly the same street as hoe kee chicken rice, right opposite the Geographer cafe. This baby has a perfect size to let u pop in ur mouth in just one bite, but to be very honest, the durian cream tasted rather artificial to me > <

Try and judge it by urself

The besties~~

Some taiwanese artists visited this place as well!!!! Among this four person, i only can recognised Kenji Wu XD

For those who might not like the taste of durian, pineapple tarts would be ur alternative choice

Oozing durian cream~~~yum~~~~

3 # Jonker 88 @ Jonker Street
The journey continued, we headed to jonker 88 (just few steps away from the durian puff stall) for their well-known durian cendol and nyonya laksa. I was a little bit let down by the durian cendol cuz it was not 'durian' enough and all i can taste is gula melaka syrup =.= btw, self-service is required here, so rmb to find urself a table first before u start ordering any foods.

I was pretty impressed by their nyonya laksa cuz it was so flavoursome and the ingredients they used were fresh. Highly recommended!!!

Nyonya Asam Laksa, another 'must-try' in this place

One of the signature dish in jonker 88, Durian cendol, but not my cup of tea

Durian cendol, shaved ice with some red beans, jelly, and cendol topped with gula melaka and durian puree

Traditional Nyonya delight, kueh paiti, it was just okay for me

4 # Nadeje Patisserie @ Jalan Plaza Mahkota
I think most of u will be pretty familiar with this place since there are thousand and million people out there talked about their mile crepes before. They claimed they are the origin of mile crepes (at least in Malaysia i think XD) and their menu selection was increasing ever since their establishment in 2006. I browsed through their webpage just now, they even started to sell nama donuts from this week onwards, which i have no idea what it is =.= For those who are obsessed with desserts, it is too bad for u to miss out this place~~~

More than 10 flavours for u to choose from

Feeling bad they did not hv any branch in KL > <

Drinks with a lot of artificial colouring

We tried 4 diff flavours, from left to right, there are double chocolate, praline lover, vanilla original, and tiramisu

5 # Klebang Original Coconut Shake
Located right next to Caltex petrol station, this inconspicuous stall selling the best thing ever that help u to combat the boiling hot weather. This was my very first time to try coconut shake and it did not disappoint me. It basically made with blended ice cubes, coconut flesh and coconut water, topped with vanilla icecream for the final touch ♥

Located at along Jalan Klebang Besar

For sure i will come back again for this baby ♥

6 # Capitol Satay Celup @ Lorong Bukit Cina
Finally, our food hunting journey come to the end, our last stop was at Capitol who selling famous local satay celup for three generations since their establishment in the mid of 1950s. Normally there will be a crazy long queue outside the restaurant, so it is unadvisable to go there with an empty stomach.

They mixed some unknown spices and grounded peanut into the thick chili sauce

Each skewer cost us RM0.90, my melaccan friend said there is another satay celup restaurant called Ban Lee Hiang, which is the favourite among the locals and they only selling RM0.60 for each skewer, should hv try that place nx time

Let's dig in!!!!!
